횡성군은 정부의 규제정책과 발맞추기 위해 '찾아가는 지방규제신고센터 운영 등 시민공감대 확보', '기업과 주민 불편 해소를 위한 규제개혁 추진', '규제입증책임제를 통한 불합리한 규제 검증 및 개선' 등 다각적인 관점과 자발적인 자세로 규제업무 전반에 걸쳐 탁월한 성과를 거두었다고 했다.
