[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 1월 27일, 정선군은 군청 소회의실에서 정선군 농촌협약위원회 창립회의를 갖고 원활한 농촌협약 공모 추진을 위한 체계적이고 종합적인 지원과 정선군 농촌 발전 방향을 모색하는 등 공모 선정을 위한 본격적인 행보에 나선다고 밝혔다. 

이날 회의에서는 한국판 뉴딜의 농업정책 핵심과제인 '정선군 농촌공간 전략계획'에 대한 심도 깊은 논의를 통해 농촌공간에 대한 생태적 가치 증대에 따른 보존 수요 증가와 더 나은 삶을 지향하며 주민의 삶의 질에 대한 고민과 함께 지역의 균형발전을 도모하고자 하는데 의견을 모았다고 했다. 

위원회는 농촌협약제도의 원활한 진행과 민관협치형 농촌정책 거버넌스 구축을 위해 설치된 의사결정기구로서 정선군의 지역 현안 및 문제진단, 미래방향 및 생활권 설정과 관련 사업 선정 등 농촌협약의 추진과정에서 중요한 사항을 협의·결정하게 되며, 정선군의회 의원·관계 공무원·지역전문가·주민대표 및 외부전문가 등 19명으로 구성되었다고 전했다.

아울러 농촌협약제도는 농림축산식품부장과 시장·군수가 농촌전략계획에 따른 지역 생활권 조성에 필요한 복수의 사업들에 대한 통합적 사업추진계획인 '농촌생활권 활성화계획'을 대상으로 선정하게 되며, 선정된 협약대상 시·군은 5년간 국비 기준 최대 300억원을 지원받게 된다고 했다.

최승준 정선군수는 "창립회의에서 내실 있게 수립된 농촌전략계획을 바탕으로 향후 각종 사업의 중요한 기초자료로 활용되는 중요성을 강조하고, 농촌 정주여건 개선과 농촌공간의 체계적이고 균형적인 정비를 실시함으로써 코로나19에 지친 지역주민의 삶의 질 향상과 열악한 농촌경제 및 공동체 활성화에 획기적으로 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대되는 농촌협약에 반드시 선정될 수 있도록 노력해 달라"고 당부했다.
