자동차세 연납제도는 매년 6월과 12월 두 차례 정기 납부하는 자동차세를 1월에 일시불로 선납 할 경우, 1월 신청기준  9.15%의 할인율이 적용된다고 했다.

연납은 3월, 6월, 9월에도 신청가능 하지만 연말까지 잔여기간에 대한 세액을 할인받는 것이라 1월중 납부하는 것이 할인 혜택이 크고, 자동차세 연납 후, 차량의 소유권이전이나 폐차 등의 사유가 발생할 경우에는 그 이후 기간에 대한 자동차세를 환급받을 수 있고, 타 시군으로 주소를 이전하는 경우에도 자동차세를 다시 낼 필요가 없다.

자동차세 연납 신청은 위택스 또는 양양군청 세무회계과로 문의하면 되고, 납부는 은행방문 또는 신용카드나 가상계좌로도 납부가 가능하다고 했다. 

양양군 관계자는 “자동차세 연납에 대한 관심이 많이 높아져 신청이 늘어나고 있는 추세다”며 “이사를 가거나 차량소유권이 이전되는 경우도 납부 관계가 연동되므로 이중과세 우려도 없어 편리하다”고 말했다.

한편, 군은 지난해 총 3,601건의 자동차세 연납 신청 접수를 통해 7억4,900만원을 납부 받았다고 했다.
