[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시와 경상북도 울진군이 함께 추진하는 ‘환동해 해양 헬스케어 융합산업 벨트 조성사업’을 초광역협력 시범사업으로 2022년에 본격 추진한다.

 

초광역협력사업은 국가균형발전위원회(이하‘균형위’)가 행정구역을 초월한 협력을 촉진하기 위해 여러 지자체가 공동 추진하는 과제를 발굴·지원하는 사업으로 균형위에서 지자체 제안사업으로 공모 접수된 총 53개 사업 중 13개 사업을 선정했으며, 그 중에서 시범사업으로 4개 사업이 내년도 예산에 최종 반영됐다고 했다. 

 

강릉과학산업진흥원(강릉)과 환동해산업연구원(울진)은 환동해 해양헬스케어 산업육성을 위해 강원과 경북 지역 해양헬스케어 기업 대상으로‘해양자원 이용 기술상용화 지원’,‘해양헬스케어산업 시장경쟁력 강화지원’,‘해양헬스케어산업 협력체계 구축’의 3개 단위사업과 8개 세부실행 과제를 사업비 31억 규모로 22년 12월까지 공동으로 추진한다고 했다.

본 사업은 2026년까지 4년간 사업비 약 360억원 규모로 해양헬스케어 제조 혁신기반 조성으로 기술 고도화 및 글로벌 시장 진입을 목표로 추진할 계획이라고 했다. 

 

강릉시는 해양생물 이용 헬스케어 소재 및 산업화 지원 플랫폼 운영과 울진은 해수자원 활용 웰니스 식품ㆍ화장품 지원 협력으로 해양헬스케어산업을 환동해 지역으로 초광역화해 강릉, 울진, 울릉을 기점으로 강원 ~ 경북 동해안 전체로 벨트화 하여 육성한다는 구상이라고 전했다. 

 

강릉시 관계자는“동해안 지역의 지속 성장을 위해 초광역협력을 통한 해양헬스케어 산업을 집중 육성하여, 초광역협력 시범사업을 성공적으로 추진함과 동시에 본 사업비 확보까지 이어져 해양헬스케어 산업이 환동해권 신성장동력 산업으로 발전될 수 있도록 노력을 기울일 계획이다. ”라고 말했다.
