[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 15일부터 20일까지 동두천시 장애인자립생활지원센터는 2021년 한 해 진행했던 관련 사업과 프로그램을 한 눈에 보는 ‘제11회 장애인 사진·작품전시회’를 동두천중앙역 1층에서 개최했다고 밝혔다.

전시회는 센터에서 진행된 자립생활기술훈련사업, 문화여가활동 프로그램 등을 결산하는 의미로 개최됐으며, 장애라는 벽을 허물고 장애인들이 직접 찍은 사진작품 20개와 공예작품 ‘생활도자기, 토탈 공예’ 등 사회참여를 위해 열심히 배우고 갈고 닦은 작품 220여점을 전시했다고 했다.

이용수 센터장은 “코로나19 장기화와 확산세로 인해 축소하여 전시회를 개최하게 되었다”며, “이번 작품전은 장애인들이 스스로 자립할 수 있도록 지원하는 훈련의 과정으로 앞으로도 많은 장애인들이 자기계발의 기회를 가질 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.
