지방상수도가 공급되는 지역은 배수지, 가압장 및 송·배수관로에 대해 주기적 순찰을 실시하여 점검하고, 수도시설 기동처리반 2개조를 연중 운영하며 긴급지원반 4개조를 추가로 편성하여 동절기 내 운영한다고 했다. 

또한, 관내 급수공사 대행업체와 유기적인 협조체제를 구축하여 긴급복구 및 비상급수에 신속히 대처할 계획이라고 전했다.

특히 지방상수도가 공급되지 않는 읍·면지역 소규모 수도시설 73개소에 대해 원수로 지하수, 계곡수, 용천수를 사용하는 만큼 염소소독시설, 정수시설, 관정, 물탱크 시설 등에 대해 중점적으로 점검을 실시하여, 혹시 모를 일반세균 및 대장균 유입을 원천적으로 차단하고 갈수기 원수에 녹아있는 비소·불소, 탁도 등을 수시로 점검하여 시민들이 안심하고 마실 수 있는 물 공급에 최선을 다할 계획이라고 했다.
