원주사랑카드는 지난 2월 본격 유통을 시작한 이후 코로나 상생 국민지원금 지급과 맞물려 판매액이 급증해 10월 판매 예정 금액 20억 원이 12일 만에 소진된 데 이어 11월에는 불과 2시간 만에 20억 원이 모두 판매됐다고 했다.

10% 할인된 가격으로 구매(충전)해 관내 1만 2천 3백여 가맹점에서 편리하게 사용할 수 있어 시민들로부터 큰 호응을 얻고 있으며, 이에 더 많은 시민에게 할인 혜택이 돌아갈 수 있도록 1인당 월 구매 한도를 40만 원으로 설정하기로 했다고 했다.

12월 원주사랑상품권 판매는 오는 1일 10시에 시작하며, 발행 금액은 20억 원이고, 한편, 올해 원주사랑상품권 총발행 규모는 150억 원이라고 했다.
