이에 원주시는 강원도 도로관리사업소의 협조로 인력과 장비를 지원받아 불시에 단속을 실시해 문막교의 과적 차량 운행을 근절해 나갈 방침이며, 특히, 단속에 적발된 차량 운전자에 대해서는 무관용 원칙을 적용해 사법당국에 고발할 계획이라고 전했다.

원주시 관계자는 “문막교 재가설 전까지 과적 차량의 통행을 막아 민원 해소는 물론, 운전자의 안전불감증을 불식시키도록 노력하겠다.”며, “단속에 적발돼 불이익을 받는 일이 없기를 바란다.”라고 말했다.
