[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 8월 31일부터 9월 10일까지 10일간 가평군농업기술센터에서는 가평군 농업인단체협의회 소속 농업인에게 농업인 넘어짐 사고 예방을 위한 농작업 안전화를 1차 보급했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 보급되는 농작업 안전화는 농작업 중 발생하는 사고의 약 40%에 육박하는 농업인 넘어짐 사고를 예방하기 위해 농촌진흥청에서 농업인의 발 형태와 농작업 환경을 고려해 개발됐다고 했다. 

가평군에서는 농업경영체에 등록되어 있고, 농업인단체협의회에 소속된 농업인을 대상으로, 고령 및 여성농업인을 우선으로 보급했다고 전했다.

가평군 총 물량 1,500켤레 중 1차 신청 농업인 83개 작목반, 1,086명을 대상으로 우선 보급하였으며, 잔여물량인 414켤레에 대해서는 9월 15일까지 2차 수요조사 후 10월 이후 추후 보급할 예정이라고 했다.

가평군 농업인단체협의회 김세경 회장은 “농업인 안전화 보급과 함께 농작업 안전교육도 추진하여 안전한 농업 환경 조성을 위해 지속적으로 노력할 예정”이라고 밝혔다.

농업기술센터 관계자는“ 이 사업은 농작업 중 넘어짐 사고를 예방하는 중요한 사업으로, 고령농업인의 생활안전을 통해 농촌안전복지를 증진하는데 기여할 수 있기를 바란다” 고 말했다.
