[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 7일 포천시는 시청 시정회의실에서 제22회 사회복지의 날을 기념해 사회복지 유공자들에 대한 표창 수여식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

사회복지의 날은 국민의 사회복지사업에 대한 이해를 증진하고 봉사와 희생으로 지역사회복지 발전을 위해 노력한 사회복지종사자의 활동을 장려하기 위한 날로 올해로 22회째를 맞고 있다고 했다.

포천시는 매년 사회복지의 날을 맞아 기념식을 해 왔으나, 지난해에 이어 올해도 코로나19 확산 방지를 위해 유공자에 대한 표창 수여식만 간소하게 진행했다고 전했다.

표창 수여식은 훈격별 최소한의 인원만 참석하여 진행하였으며, 지역사회복지 향상에 기여한 사회복지시설 종사자, 후원자, 봉사자, 공무원 등 11명에게 표창장을 수여했다고 했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “사회복지 최일선에서 열정을 갖고 일하는 사회복지 종사자, 후원과 나눔을 실천하는 후원자·봉사자, 사회복지 행정발전에 기여한 공무원 등 모든 수상자분들의 노고에 감사드린다.”라며, “코로나19 확산으로 지치고 힘든 시기인 만큼 우리 주변에 소외되고 어려운 분들이 없는지 더 세심히 살펴봐 주시기를 부탁드린다.”라고 말했다.
