[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 6월 29일 캠코 서울서부지역본부는 ‘캠코 희망키움 국유지’에서 의정부 지역봉사단체들과 함께 따봉감자(따뜻한 봉사자가 심은 감자)를 수확하고 지역 봉사단체에 기부했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 기부행사는 지난해 캠코 서울서부지역본부와 유관기관들*간 체결한 업무협약의 일환으로, 유휴 국유지를 활용해 직접 재배한 따봉감자를 지역 내 소외계층 주민들과 함께 나누고자 마련됐다고 했다.

캠코 서울서부지역본부 등 협약기관 소속직원들과 지역 자원봉사단원들은 따봉감자 기부를 위해 지난해 말부터 감자 파종은 물론 재배, 수확의 전 과정에 직접 참여하여 기부의 의미를 더했다고 전했다.

이날 행사에는 협약기관 소속직원과 자원봉사자 등 약 70여명이 참여했으며, 따봉감자 100박스를 수확하고 의정부시종합사회복지관 등 지역 소외계층 지원단체 5곳에 전달했다고 했다.

김용훈 캠코 서울서부지역본부장은 “아쉽게도 해당 국유지에 민락지구대 착공이 예정되어 내년부터는 기부가 어려워졌지만, 앞으로도 캠코는 지역사회와의 상생과 적극행정 구현을 위해 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.

이용걸 의정부시자원봉사센터 이사장은 “이번 봉사활동에 참여한 기관 임직원, 봉사자분들 모두에게 감사드리며, 오늘 모인 따뜻한 정성이 어려운 이웃들의 코로나19 위기 극복에 도움이 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 캠코 서울서부지역본부는 지난해 ‘따봉배추(따뜻한 봉사자가 심은 배추) 김장나누기’ 행사를 기획해 유휴 국유지에서 수확한 배추 2,000포기를 경기지역 내 소외된 이웃들에게 전달하는 나눔 활동을 펼친 바 있다고 했다.
