[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 26일 경기도의회 교육기획위원회 위원장 정윤경 의원은 군포중학교에서 열린 실내체육관 건립 관련 정담회에 참석했다고 밝혔다.

이번 정담회는 군포중학교 실내체육관 건립 추진을 위한 예산 확보 방안 및 체육관 위치선정, 체육관건립추진위원회 구성에 대해 논의하기 위한 자리로 최근 미세먼지 발생 등 대기환경 변화에 따른 실내체육의 수요와 요구가 급증하고 있지만 군포중학교는 군포·의왕 지역 74개 초·중·고·특수학교 중 아직 실내체육 시설이 없어 실내체육관 설립에 대한 학생과 학부모의 요구와 관심이 뜨거운 상태라고 했다.

이날 회의는 정윤경 의원을 비롯하여 시의원·학생·학부모·학교관계자·교육청 관계자 등이 참석하여 서로의 의견을 교류하였으며, 민주적 의사결정 방식을 통해 체육관 부지 선정 및 체육관 건립을 위한 추진위원회 구성에 대해 합의를 이루어냈다고 했다.

정윤경 의원은 “실내체육관은 학생들이 쾌적하고 안전하게 운동이나 문화 활동을 즐길 수 있는 장소일 뿐만 아니라, 지역 주민들에게도 생활 체육을 즐길 수 있는 지역 내 문화·체육 플랫폼 구축의 중심이 될 것”이라고 그 역할과 중요성을 강조하며, 군포출신 경기도의회 교육기획위원장 동의원으로서 조속한 시일내에 실내체육관 건립을 위한 예산 확보를 위한 노력을 약속했다.

한편 정윤경 의원은 미세먼지로부터 학생들의 학습권을 보장하고 생활체육 동호인들의 운동 공간 확보를 위해 군포시 관내 학교 실내체육관 건립사업을 지속적으로 추진했으며 이로써 군포시 관내 학교 중 실내체육관 부지 확보가 어려운 몇 개 학교를 제외하곤 모든 학교에 실내체육관이 건립되게 된다고 전했다.
