[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 5월 24일부터 25일까지 양일간 의정부시의회 의장 오범구는 의정부관내 초등학교체육관 증·개축 사업 현장 6곳을 방문했다고 밝혔다.  

이 사업은 심각한 미세먼지로부터 학생들을 보호하고 건강한 학교 체육 및 지역체육 활성화를 통해 함께 공유하는 지역사회 문화체육공간 확보를 위해 의정부시-경기도-경기도교육청이 함께 지원하는 교육협력사업이라고 했다.

먼저 24일을 시작으로 녹양초등학교 체육관 및 급식소와 버들개초등학교, 의정부효자초등학교를 방문하였으며, 25일은 발곡초등학교, 의정부초등학교, 동오초등학교 체육관 건립 현장을 방문했다고 전했다.   

의정부시의회 의원들은 김진선 교육장과 의정부시, 의정부교육지원청 관계 공무원들과 함께 시설 현황을 둘러보고, 현장 담당자로부터 공사 추진 사항에 대한 전반적인 설명과 애로사항을 청취하는 시간을 가졌다고 했다.

오범구 의장은 “학교 실내체육관의 건립이야말로 의정부시 학생과 시민을 위한 협력의 결과”라고 그 중요성을 강조하며, “학생들의 안전을 최우선으로 고려하여 완공까지 순조롭게 추진되길 바란다.”고 당부했다.
