[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시의회는 23일 의원회의실에서 13명의 의원 당선인을 대상으로 제9대 의정부시의회 의원 오리엔테이션을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 오리엔테이션은 제9대 의회 개원을 앞두고 향후 의정활동에 필요한 사항을 안내하기 위해 마련됐다고 전했다. 

오리엔테이션 개최 전, 김동근 의정부시장 당선인이 방문하여 축하 인사와 함께 의정부시 발전이라는 공통 목표를 위해 양 기관이 상호 소통하고 협력하기로 약속했다.

오리엔테이션은 사무국 직원 소개, 의원 배지 및 신분증 증정, 의회 전반사항 안내 등의 순으로 진행 후, 의회 전문 강사가 ‘제9대 지방의회 성공의 길’이라는 주제로 특강을 실시했다고 했다.

당선인들은 “시민의 대변자 역할을 성실히 수행하기 위해 항상 노력하고, 의정부시와 의회 발전을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라며 앞으로의 의정활동에 대한 각오를 밝혔다.

한편, 의정부시의회는 내달 1일 제315회 임시회에서 전반기 의회를 이끌어갈 의장과 부의장을 선출하고 본격적인 의정활동에 들어갈 예정이라고 전했다.
