[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 25일 의정부시의회 오범구 의장은 을지대학교 일현관에서 ‘의정부시 지방자치 조직 구성'을 주제로 민주주의의 꽃인 의정부의 지방자치에 관한 특강을 진행했다고 밝혔다.  

이날 특강 강사로 나선 오범구 의장은 학생들에게 어린 시절부터 마음속에 품고 있던 꿈과 이상, 33년간 노동자들을 대변하는 노동 운동가로서의 삶과 정치인이 되기까지의 여정을 밝혔다. 

또한 시의원으로 선출된 이후 시민의 복리증진을 위한 의정활동을 소개하며 의정부시의회 조직과 역할에 대해 1시간에 걸쳐 비대면으로 강의했다고 했다. 

오범구 의장은 “젊은 학생들의 배움에 대한 열정을 다시 한번 느낄 수 있었다. 학생들과의 격의 없는 소통의 장을 작년에 이어 다시 한번 마련해 주신 을지대학교 측에 감사드린다. 의정부시의회 또한 창의적인 지역인재 양성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 소감을 밝혔다

한편 을지대학교는 2021년 하반기부터 교양강좌로‘의정부학’을 개설하여 학생들에게 지역에 대한 이해와 자긍심 고취를 위해 노력하고 있다고 전했다.
