[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부] 4월26일부터 북부지방산림청은 코로나-19로 인한 고용 위기에 대응하고 산불 등 산림재해를 예방하고자 ‘산림바이오매스수집단’ 운영사업을 본격 착수하여 10월 말까지 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 추진하는 산림바이오매스수집단은 공공산림가꾸기 사업의 일환으로, 주요 업무는 산림청에서 추진하는 숲가꾸기 사업지 중심으로 나뭇가지 등 산물을 수집하여 산불 등 재해를 예방하고, 생활권 주변 덩굴류 등을 제거하여 쾌적한 환경을 조성하기 위해 산림을 정비한다고 했다. 

이번에 추진하는 산림바이오매스수집단은 숲가꾸기 추경사업으로, 북부지방산림청에서는 8억3천만 원을 투입한다고 전했다.

총 56명을 운영하며 북부지방산림청 소속기관인 서울국유림관리소에서는 2개단 16명, 춘천·홍천·수원·인제·민북지역국유림관리소에서는 각 1개단 8명씩 운영한다고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “코로나-19로 모두 힘든 시기에 산림청 녹색일자리 창출을 통해 고용 안정과 산림사업지 내 산물을 수집함으로써 산림재해 예방에 적극 기여하도록 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
