[김현우 기자 = 가평] 서태원 가평군수가 마약범죄 예방을 위한 ‘노 엑시트(NO EXIT)’릴레이 캠페인에 동참했다고 26일 밝혔다.

'출구 없는 미로 노 엑시트(NO EXIT) 마약 절대 시작하지 마세요'라고 적힌 홍보 피켓을 들고 캠페인에 참여한 서 군수는 다음 주자로 군의회 최정용 의장을 지목했다.

앞서 서 군수는 가평교육지원청 하태훈 교육장으로부터 캠페인 참여자로 지목됐었다. 

서 군수는 “다양한 경로를 통해 마약이 확산되어 마약 청정국이라는 대한민국의 수식어도 위태로운 요즘, 마약의 위험성에 대해 모든 국민이 경각심을 가져야 한다”며 “마약없는 청정가평을 지키고 군민의 건강과 소중한 일상을 보호하는데 지원과 노력을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

이 캠페인은 경찰청과 마약퇴치운동본부 주관으로 마약의 심각성을 환기하고 범죄라는 경각심을 고취하기 위해 지난 4월 26일 시작으로 올해 연말까지 진행될 예정이다.

앞서 서 군수는 아동폭력 근절을 위한 ‘END Violence’캠페인에 동참하기도 했다.

이 캠페인은 ‘폭력을 멈추게 하는 것은 바로 우리의 관심입니다(Take action, stop violence)’라는 슬로건으로 아동․청소년을 향한 모든 폭력을 근절시키기 위해 유니세프한국위원회와 대한민국 외교부가 공동으로 진행해온 글로벌 인식개선 행사다.

가평군은 지난해부터 아동보호팀을 신설하고 아동학대전담공무원 및 아동보호전담요원을 배치하여 아동학대 조사 및 아동보호 공공화를 정착 시켰으며, 지역 내 모든 아동이 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 안전한 지역사회 구축을 위해 실천하고 있다.
