특히 이번 '경기북부 번영 시대' 공약 발표 기자회견에는 강수현 양주시장 후보, 김동근 의정부시장 후보, 박형덕 동두천시장 후보, 백경현 구리시장 후보, 백영현 포천시장 후보, 이동환 고양시장 후보, 조병국 파주시장 후보 등 경기북부 7개 기초단체장 후보들이 함께 참여해 원팀으로 경기북부 발전을 위한 각오를 다졌다고 전했다.

이어 김 후보는 접경지역 글로벌 경제안보벨트 조성 구상을 발표했으며, 남북한 긴장과 충돌을 해소하기 위해 접경지역을 공동 개발해 경제안보 기반을 조성하고, 해외 기업을 유치해 완충지대를 마련하겠다는 구상이며, 또한, 한탄강 인근 세계지질공원(포천, 연천)을 활용하여, 경제안보관광사업을 추진하겠다는 계획을 밝혔다.

 

이와 함께 경기북부 경제자유구역청 신설 및 첨단삼각벨트 조성 계획을 밝혔다.
