[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 3월 25일, (사)한국농업경영인 양양군연합회과 100여명의 회원들은 개구리알 부화장 조성과 토종 개구리알 100만개 방사활동을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

이날 행사에서는 개구리알 보호를 시작하는 ‘농업생태계 보전활동 선포식’을 시작으로 현북면 면옥치리를 비롯해 6개 읍·면 부화장에서 개구리알 100만개 방사활동을 진행한다고 했다.

매년 봄이면 논과 개울, 하천에서 개구리들이 힘차게 울며 개구리알을 산란하였으나, 최근 급격히 줄어든 개구리 울음소리를 걱정하던 농업 경영인들이 뜻을 모아 자연생태계를 살리고 유지·보호하기 위해 마련됐다고 전했다.

농업경영인 회원들은 각종 농약, 비료 등으로 갓 부화된 올챙이와 작은 개구리들이 성장하기도 전에 죽어 생태계의 기초가 무너지고 파괴되고 있는 것에 대한 안타까움으로 현북면 면옥치리 소재 소류지와 읍·면 6개소에 개구리알 부화장을 조성하게 되었다고 했다.

박주욱 회장은 “토종 개구리알 부화장 조성으로 생태계를 안정적으로 보호하고, 매년 개체수 모닝터링을 통한 자연생태 복원 활동자료로 활용코자 한다”며 “더 나아가 양양군이 자연생태계를 지키는 전국 제일의 1등 군이 되고자 지속적으로 노력해나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
