[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12일 북부지방산림청은 연초부터 건조한 날씨와 강풍이 지속됨에 따라 예년대비 많은 산불이 발생하고 있어 산불방지를 위한 국민 공감대 형성을 위해 관악산 등산로 일대에서 유관기관 합동 산불예방 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 캠페인에는 북부지방산림청, 서울특별시, 관악구청 등이 참여하여 산불방지를 위한 대국민 호소에 힘을 보탰으며,지속되는 건조한 날씨 속에 금년 3월 10일 까지 276건의 산불이 발생하여 예년(121.8건) 대비 127% 증가한 수치라고 했다.

캠페인에 참석한 기관들은 관악산을 찾은 등산객들을 대상으로 산불예방 계도 및 홍보활동을 벌이면서, 홍보물 배부와 공익광고 송출 및 산림보호활동을 펼쳤다고 했다.

아울러 산불이 발생했을 경우 신속한 초동대처를 위한 국가-지방 간 협조체계를 구축하며, 산불로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위한 상호 지원과 협력을 강화하기로 다짐했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “산불은 예방이 무엇보다 중요하며 단 한 번의 실수로 소중한 산림이 한순간에 사라질 수 있다.”라고 강조하면서, “최근 강원도 삼척, 울진 등과 같은 대형산불이 다시는 발생되지 않도록 온 국민의 각별한 애정과 적극적인 산불예방 참여를 부탁드린다.”라고 당부했다.
