[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 올해 약 37억원의 예산을 투입하여 산림교육전문가 156명(숲해설가 94명, 유아숲지도사 62명)을 3월부터 11월까지 관내(수도권·강원영서권) 유아·청소년·일반인 등 약 35만명의 국민들에게 숲체험을 통한 정서 함양, 탄소중립, 산림문화·휴양 등 고품질의 산림교육서비스를 제공한다고 밝혔다.

산림교육은 국립유아숲체험원을 방문하는 유아들을 대상으로 유아숲지도사가  숲체험 프로그램을 운영하고, 도시숲, 국민의 숲, 명품 숲, 숲길 등 산림복지시설에 배치된 숲해설가는 유아·청소년·일반인을 대상으로 숲해설 프로그램 운영은 물론, 숲을 찾기 어려운 대상을 학교숲, 노인복지센터, 치매안심센터, 다문화센터 등을 찾아가서 숲해설 프로그램을 운영한다고 했다.

산림교육은 ‘코로나-19’ 확산으로 개인 방역수칙들을 준수하면서 진행되며  대면이 어려울 경우를 대비하여 산림교육 동영상 및 체험키트 배부 등 비대면 프로그램을 병행하여 어려운 여건 속에서도 국민들이 원활하게 산림교육서비스를 누릴 수 있도록 최선을 다 할 것이라고 관계자는 말했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “금년 산림교육 운영사업을 통해 유아·청소년 및 소외계층 등 일반 국민들에게 양질의 산림교육서비스를 제공하고 산림교육분야 일자리 확대 등에도 만전을 기하겠다.”라며 “국민들 또한 코로나-19가 종식될 때까지는 산림교육에 참여할 경우 마스크 착용과 거리두기 등 개인 방역수칙을 철저히 지켜주시길 당부 드린다.”라고 말했다.
