[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 시민을 대상으로 자전거 보험에 가입할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

※ 보험 가입일자: 2022.3.18.~2023.3.17.

자전거를 이용하는 시민들의 안전 확보를 위하여 지난 2015년부터 매년 자전거 보험에 가입하고 있고, 보험은 강릉시민 자전거 보험과 시설소유(관리자) 배상책임 보험으로 나뉘며, 시민 자전거 보험은 강릉시에 주민등록을 둔 시민(외국인 포함)이면 별도 가입 절차 없이 보험 혜택을 받을 수 있다고 했다.

시설소유 배상책임 보험은 동해안 자전거길(양양군계 지경공원~동해시계 망상해변 57.2km)을 이용하는 자전거 운전자에게 대인, 대물, 구내치료비 등을 보상받을 수 있다고 했다.

또한, 자전거 사고 발생 시 4주 이상 진단 시 최소 30만 원부터 최대 70만 원까지 보장 받을 수 있으며, 자전거 이용 시 발생할 수 있는 사망사고 및 후유장해 사고도 보장받을 수 있다고 전했다. 

강릉시민이 자전거 운전 중 타인을 사상케 하여 확정판결로 벌금을 부담하거나 판결을 받게 되는 경우 자전거사고 벌금과 자전거사고 변호사선임 비용도 보장받게 된다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는“시민들이 안심하고 자전거를 탈 수 있는 환경을 만들기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
