주민 의견 수렴을 위해 개최된 회의에는 관련 부서 공무원과 이장연합회, 전문가 등 20여명이 참석했고, 회의에서는 인구 감소에 따른 지방소멸 위기에 놓인 홍천군의 현재 상황을 설명하고 인구 증가를 위한 '자체 발굴 사업', '농업·농촌 통합적 발전 전략', '2030 장기 발전 계획의 세부사항'을 소개한 뒤 참석자들에게 우선순위를 묻는 방식으로 진행됐으며, 이날 파악된 의견은 홍천군이 추진 중인 ‘인구활력 계획 수립을 위한 연구용역’에 반영될 계획이라고 전했다.

김완수 기획감사담당관은 “지방소멸 및 지역 인구감소에 대응할 수 있는 홍천군 특성에 맞는 인구활력 계획을 수립하기 위해 연구용역의 초안을 토대로 이번 회의를 개최했다”며 “앞으로도 각계각층의 의견을 수렴해 실효성 있는 대책을 수립할 수 있도록 최선을 다 하겠다”고 말했다.
