[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시가 나무심기를 통해 가치있는 산림자원과 녹색도시 조성을 위한 행복한 동해만들기 수목 지원 사업을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

동해시는 매년 식목주간 및 시 개청일(4.1.)을 맞아 개최해 오던 나무 나눠주기 행사를 코로나19 확산에 따라 취소하고, 대신 시민들에게 유실수, 꽃나무 등 수목(꽃묘)을 지원하는 사업으로 대체 추진한다고 밝혔다.

다음달 2일부터 18일까지 관내 유관기관, 군부대, 학교 및 아파트 단지 등을 대상으로 수목과 꽃묘 지원 요청을 받아 4월 초까지 수목지원을 완료할 예정이라고 했다.

또, 이와함께 행복동(동별) 마을숲 조성 사업도 실시해, 동별 조성 희망대상지를 파악하고, 마을별 희망 수종의 묘목도 지원할 계획이라고 전했다.

심정교 녹지과장은 “시민 누구나 내 나무를 갖고, 심고, 가꿀수 있는 분위기를 조성하여 동해시를 쾌적한 녹색 공간으로 조성할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
