[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 2월 23일, 횡성군은 수도권전철 횡성연장 추진을 위한 '제2회 수도권전철 횡성연장 추진 전문위원회 회의'를 군수 집무실에서 개최하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 회의에서는 지난해 2021년 5월 26일 제1회 전문위원회 회의 이후 진행된 ‘수도권 전철 횡성연장’추진 경위 설명과 중앙부처 등 관련기관 의견 및 동향을 공유하여, 이에 대한 전문위원들의 의견을 수렴하였고, 주요 회의 내용은 국토교통부 ‘광역철도 지정 기준 개선방안’ 관련법 개정 추진에 따른 횡성군 대응 방안과 사업 실현을 위한 전략 방향 설정 등으로 심도 있는 논의를 진행하였다고 했다.  

횡성군은 이번에 논의된 사안에 대하여 면밀히 검토하여 정책추진 방향 결정에 활용할 계획이며, 향후 법령개정 대응과 기술 검토 등을 시행하여 공론화를 이끌어 추진할 예정이라고 전했다.
