[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시가 2022년 슬레이트 처리 지원사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다. 

지원 대상은 지붕 및 벽체가 슬레이트로 된 건축물 소유자로, 시는 올해 주택 110동과 비주택(창고,축사) 2동의 슬레이트 철거 및 지붕개량사업 10동을 실시할 계획이라고 했다.

슬레이트 철거 및 지붕개량사업 지원을 희망하는 건물 소유자는 오는 3월 18일까지 각 동 행정복지센터를 통해 신청하면 된다고 전했다.

슬레이트 철거·처리비는 전액 지원되며, 슬레이트 지붕 철거 후 새 지붕으로 교체해주는 지붕개량사업은 사회취약계층에 한해 전액 지원한다. 또, 무허가건축물의 경우에는 슬레이트 철거·처리에 한해 지원 가능하다고 했다.

박상형 환경과장은 “슬레이트 철거비용이 전액 지원되는만큼 1급 발암물질인 석면으로부터 안전한 주거공간을 확보하기 위해 슬레이트 건축물 소유주분들께서는 많은 관심을 갖고 신청해주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
