동해시는 이날 착수보고회에서 제시된 수요자 및 전문가의 다양한 의견을 반영해 6월까지 기본 및 실시설계용역을 완료하고, 7월 착공에 들어간다는 계획이라고 전했다.

새로운 보훈복지회관은 2023년 완공을 목표로 동해시 용정동 4-9번지 외 1필지(부지면적 1,109.9㎡)에 건축물 연면적 1,488㎡, 지상 3층 규모로 건축돼 이용자의 접근성을 높이고, 회의실, 건강관리실, 휴게실 등 다양한 복지 및 편의시설을 갖출 예정이라고 했다.
