[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 10일, 군은 양양군 체육우수선수 선발 심의위원회를 열고 양양군체육회장이 추천한 선수에 대한 심의를 거쳐 총 6명의 우수선수를 최종 선정, 연간 훈련비 일체를 지원한다고 밝혔다.

이번에 선정된 선수는 4년간 국가대표 상비군으로 활약했던 주대운 골프선수를 비롯하여 김승수·이시훈 자전거선수, 박하준 사격선수, 정아린·이남기 육상선수 등 모두 6명으로 연말까지 1일 훈련비 10만원씩, 1인당 최대 1천만 원까지 지원받게 된다고 했다. 

이번 우수선수 지원은 지난해 양양군의회 이종석 의원이 발의한 '양양군체육우수선수 육성 및 지원에 관한 조례'에 의거 매년 3천만 원 가량의 훈련비와 포상금이 지원되며, 또한 군은 매년 우수선수 조기 발굴 등 유소년체육 활성화를 위하여 체육꿈나무 육성사업을 실시하고 있으며 축구, 육상 등 4개 종목에 6천2백만 원을 지원하고 있다고 전했다. 

김진하 군수는 “매년 선수들의 안정적인 훈련과 경기력 향상을 위해 훈련비를 지원할 계획이며, 이번에 선정된 선수들은 도민체전과 전국체전 등 대회에서 양양군 대표로서 맹활약하여 좋은 결실을 맺기를 응원한다”고 말했다.
