[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 범석학술장학재단이 국내 보건·의료분야 발전에 공헌한 인사에게 수여하는 제 25회 범석상 수상자로 논문상 김한상 연세대 교수와 의학상 박정규 서울대 교수를 선정했다고 밝혔다.

코로나19로 시상식은 비대면으로 열렸고, 수상자들에게는 상장과 상금 각 2천만 원이 수여됐다고 했다.

보건·의료 관련 우수 논문을 발표한 공로로 범석 논문상을 수상한 김한상 교수는 ‘세포 밖 소포체 및 입자 단백체 분석을 통한 종양 바이오마커 탐색 연구’를 통해 종양의 유무, 암의 종류까지 진단하는 데 활용할 수 있는 단백질 바이오마커들을 규명했고, 해당 연구 논문은 세계 최고 학술지인 셀에 게재됐다고 전했다.

심사위원회는 “암의 조기 진단과 신약 개발을 위한 새로운 가능성을 열었다는 점에서 연구 결과의 의미가 큰바, 우리나라 의과학계의 위상을 높이는데 기여했다”고 선정 이유를 밝혔다.

보건·의료분야에서 학술·사회봉사적으로 탁월한 업적을 이룬 인사·단체에 주어지는 범석 의학상의 수상자 박정규 교수는 30여 년간 이식면역학 연구에 매진해왔다고 전했다.

박 교수는 의료분야의 미충족 수요 중 하나인 장기부족 현상의 해결을 위해 미개척 분야인 이종장기이식 연구를 수행하고 있으며, 특히 돼지의 췌도를 사람에게 이식하는 임상시험을 신청하는 등 세계적으로 주목할만한 성과를 이룬 점이 높게 평가됐다고 했다.
