동해시는 이번 용역을 통해 수소산업 관련 동향 조사, 동해시 지역 현황 및 경쟁력 비교 분석, 수소산업 육성 방안(기대효과), 암모니아 전용 수소항만 거점도시 육성방안, 수소산업을 활용한 탄소중립 실현 방안, 수소산업 육성을 위한 지원방법 및 제도 개선 사항 등을 확인·마련할 방침이며, 용역은 중간보고회를 거쳐 오는 6월 완료될 예정이라고 했다.

심규언 시장은 “북평산업단지 입주기업을 중심으로 수소 관련 소·부·장 기업 전환의 지원과 민·관·연구기관이 공동 대응이 가능토록 상반기에 수소 협의체를 구성하고, 산업 육성을 위한 조례를 제정하여 수소산업 기틀 마련에 역량을 집중하겠다”고 말했다.
