[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 홍천군이 여름철 물놀이 안전관리 분야 연속 4회 대통령 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

홍천군 건설방재과 정민호 안전관리담당은 국가재난관리에 이바지한 공로를 인정받아 2021년 여름철 물놀이 안전관리 분야에서 대통령 표창을 수상하는 영광을 안았다고 전했다.

군은 그동안 물놀이관리지역 88곳 중 52곳(위험지역 18곳)에 물놀이 안전관리요원 135명을 배치, 운영했고, 홍천강에 안전표지판 208개, 인명 구조함 62개의 장비를 확충했으며, 홍천강을 찾는 행락객에게 구명조끼 4,950개를 무료 대여해 인명사고 예방에 총력을 기울였다고 했다.

이밖에 물놀이 인명사고 예방에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 홍천강변 위험요소가 있는 지역을 중심으로 현수막 503개, 배너 30개를 설치해 인명피해 예방에 선제적으로 대응하고 행락객의 안전의식을 고취시켜 4년 연속 대통령표창을 수상하는 영광을 안았다고 전했다.  

특히 여름철 코로나19 감염병 확산 속에서도 홍천강 유원지를 찾는 행락객의 급증에도 홍천군청, 유관기관, 수난구조대, 재난구조대, 이장협의회, 물놀이 안전요원 등과 협업해 현장 중심의 예찰활동을 강화해 물놀이 안전사고 예방에 주력한 점도 높은 평가를 받았다고 했다.

김종삼 건설방재과장은 “올해에도 홍천강을 찾는 행락객의 안전을 위해 인명구조장비를 사전 점검 보완하고 안전시설 확충 및 지속적인 물놀이 사고 예방 홍보를 실시해 안전한 홍천군을 만들어 나가겠다”고 말했다.
