지원대상은 신청 가구의 소득과 재산의 소득환산액을 반영한 소득인정액이 기준 중위소득 46% 이하인 가구이며, 주소지 동 행정복지센터에서 관련 상담 후 신청 가능하다. 또, 기존 주거급여 수급자는 별도 신청할 필요는 없다고 했다. 

동해시는 올해 국비 포함 45억여원의 예산을 확보해 수급가구의 주거비 부담을 완화하고, 양질의 주거수준 확보를 위한 적극적인 주거급여 사업을 추진할 방침이라고 했다.

특히, 올해는 기준 중위소득 45% 이하에서 46% 이하로 대상자 선정기준이 상향됨에 따라, 동해시는 수급 대상 확대로 더 많은 가구가 혜택을 받을 것으로 기대하며, 누락되는 대상자가 없도록 각 동별 찾아가는 보건복지팀을 활용한 적극적인 홍보를 진행할 예정이라고 했다.

한편, 동해시는 지난해 전․월세에 사는 2,300여 가구에 38억여원의 주거비를 지원했으며, 자가 101가구에 대해서는 7억여원의 집수리를 지원했다고 전했다.

장한조 허가과장은 “든든한 주거안전망 구축을 통한 포용사회 확산이라는 정부의 예산 편성 기본방향에 따라 주거급여 보장기관으로서 수급 가구의 주거권 향상을 위해 적극적으로 추진하겠으며, 또한 사각지대에 놓인 가구가 없도록 수급자 발굴을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다.
