[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동해시는 학령기 청소년의 학업중단을 조기 대응하고, 학교 밖 청소년의 건강한 성장 지원을 위해, 「2022년 학교 밖 청소년 자기개발 지원사업」을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

「학교 밖 청소년자기개발 지원사업」은 강원도와 동해시가 학교 밖 청소년들의 중단된 학업 및 진로설정 고민을 덜어주며 건강한 사회구성원으로 성장 할 수 있도록 이용자들의 편의를 위해 바우처 방식으로 지원하는 사업이라고 했다.

지원대상은 강원도 내 1년 이상 거주하고 있는 만9세~만18세의 학교 밖 청소년이며, 대상 청소년들에게는 동해페이를 통해 월 5만원(연간 600,000원)이 지원돼 영화관, 서점, 학원 등 문화활동 및 자기개발 용도로 활용할 수 있다고 했다.

신청은 본인 또는 법적 보호자가 오는 12월 15일까지 동 행정복지센터 또는 시청 가족교육과를 통해 신청하면 되고, 단, 대상자는 매분기 학교 밖 청소년지원센터에서 상담 및 관련 프로그램을 1회 이상 참여해야만 지원을 받을 수 있다고 전했다.

임정규 가족교육과장은 “이번 사업을 통해 불가피하게 학업을 중단한 청소년들이 사회의 소외됨을 극복하며, 당당하게 사회구성원으로 건강한 생활을 누릴 수 있기를 바란다”며, “앞으로도 학교 밖 청소년들의 경제적인 부담을 최소화하여 자신의 끼를 마음껏 발휘할 수 있도록 적극적인 지원을 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
