[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 이달 1월부터 오는 3월까지 상반기 소나무재선충병 방제사업의 부실 설계‧감리‧시공을 사전에 예방하고 방제사업의 품질 확보를 위해 ‘소나무재선충병 방제 지역담당관’ 제도를 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

북부지방산림청장이 지난 12월 20일부터 북부권 지역담당관으로 지정됨에 따라 방제기간 중 관내 피해확산 거점지역의 시‧군을 순회 방문하여 기관장 면담, 방제사업장 현장점검 등을 실시하고, 경각심 고취‧방제전략 마련‧기관별 협력사항 논의 등을 통해 방제사업의 품질을 확보할 방침이라고 했다.

이 일환으로, 지난 10일 북부지방산림청장은 이천시장과의 면담을 통해 이천시에 대한 재선충병 피해현황 및 방제상황을 상호 공유했으며, 피해확산 조기차단을 위해 이천시‧북부지방산림청간 긴밀히 협력하기로 했다고 전했다. 

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “지역특성을 고려한 맞춤형 방제, 예산 확보, 전문 인력 배치 등 기관장의 지속적인 관심과 지원(협조)을 부탁드린다.”라고 전하면서, “상반기 방제기간(1～3월) 중 피해고사목(감염목)에 대한 전량방제로 북부권 내 소나무류 피해 확산을 조기에 차단하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
