[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 10일 북부지방산림청은 산불이 연중화·대형화되는 추세로 유동적인 산불변화 추이에 적극적으로 대응하기 위하여 공무원과 산불재난특수진화대원 등 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 북부지방산림청 대회의실에서 ‘산불방지 결의 다짐 대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

최근 기후변화로 인해 극심한 가뭄, 건조한 날이 증가함에 따라 산불발생이 사시사철로 확대되고, 도시지역·야간 산불로 피해규모도 대형화되는 등재해 위험성이 상존하고 있어 선제적인 산불예방 활동 강화 및 산불에 대한 경각심 고취를 위하여 이번 행사를 실시했다고 했다.

이번 행사는 산불로부터 귀중한 생명과 재산을 보호하기 위하여 맡은 바 임무를 다하고자 산불재난특수진화대 대표가 결의문을 낭독하였으며, 산불재난특수진화대 운영 관련 발전방향을 논의하고 의견을 공유하는 자리를 마련했다고 전했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “산불진화 최일선에서 근무하는 산불재난특수진화대원의 역할이 그 어느 때보다 중요하다.”라며, “국민의 소중한 생명과 산림자원을 지킬 수 있도록 사명감을 가지고 최선을 다해달라.”라고 당부했다.
