[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 28일 전 세계가 코로나19 변이 바이러스 확산으로 어려움에 처한 상황에서 강원도가 우호교류시인 베트남 호치민시에 KF94 방역마스크 8만장을 기부하는 전달식이 호치민 시청에서 개최됐다고 밝혔다. 

이번 마스크 전달식은 호치민시의 강원도에 대한 감사의 표시로서, 마스크가 전달되는 호치민시를 비롯한 인근 7개성 외무청장 등 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 강원도와 호치민시 간의 우정을 확인하는 계기가 됐다고 했다.

특히, 이번 마스크 전달은 강원도가 구매한 5.5만장과 도내 마스크 제조기업 ㈜온누리플랜이 기부한 2.5만장을 더해 총8만장으로, 멀리 베트남까지 강원도의 온정을 더해주고 있다고 했다. 

 호치민시는 지난 4월부터 전국으로 급격히 확산되기 시작한 코로나19 바이러스로 인하여 강력한 지역봉쇄 및 이동제한 조치 등을 펼치면서 지역경제는 물론 대외 통상에 큰 피해를 입고 있으며, 최근에는 지역경제 피해를 최소화하고자 제재조치를 단계적으로 완화하고는 있으나, 새로운 오미크론 변이 바이러스의 등장으로 인해 마스크를 비롯한 방역물품의 지원이 더욱 절실한 상황이라고 전했다.

이번 마스크 지원에 대해 쩐푹안(Tran Phuoc Anh) 호치민시 외무국장은“강원도가  펜데믹 지속으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 호치민시를 지원해 주어 깊이 감사드리며, 호치민시도 양 지역 협력관계의 지속적인 발전을 위해 노력하겠다”고 감사의 마음을 전했다.
