[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도 내 65세 이상 어르신 가구를 비롯해 장애인, 한 부모 가정 등 취약계층의 이불빨래를 지원하기 위해 전국 최초로 운영되고 있는 강원형 ‘공공이불빨래방’의 기능이 한층 강화돼 사회서비스 플랫폼으로 거듭날 전망이라고 전했다.

오는 23일 오후 2시 강원도는 도청 통상상담실에서 (사)어른신의 안부를 묻는 우유배달로부터 우유와, ㈜파로스로부터 운동화세탁기를 기증 받는 기증식을 개최한다고 밝혔다. 

이날 기증 받는 우유는 공공이불빨래방의 이불빨래 회수 및 세탁배달 인력을 활용해 홀몸 어르신 각 가정에 배달될 예정이다. 이 과정에서 홀몸 어르신 고독사 예방을 위한 '안부 확인' 사회복지 기능이 수행된다고 했다. 

지난 10월 6일부터 삼척, 정선 홀몸어르신 53가구에 지원되고 있으며, 앞으로 개소되는 공공이불빨래방에도 지원할 계획이라고 전했다. 

또한 ㈜파로스로부터는 총 20대의 운동화 빨래·건조기를 기증받아(2억 원 상당) 도내 18개 시군에서 운영되는 공공이불빨래방에 설치되어 취약계층 대상 운동화 빨래 서비스가 추가된다고 했다. 

한편 강원도에서는 지난해 10월 시범사업을 거쳐 올해 초부터 대형 이불 빨래에 어려움을 겪는 홀몸노인과 장애인, 소년·소녀 가장, 기초생활보장 수급자 등 취약계층을 대상으로 이불을 무료로 수거해 세탁을 거쳐 배달해 주는  ‘공공이불빨래방’사업을 운영하고 있다고 했다. 

또한 이불빨래 수거와 세탁된 이불 배달과정에서 가정에서 필요로 하는 생활필수품이나 상비약품도 배달하는 한편, 사회복지사의 돌봄서비스도 함께 제공하고 있는데, 이번에 기증받은 우유와 운동화 세탁기가 추가 보급돼 기능이 한층 강화될 것으로 기대 된다고 전했다.
