[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 30일 북부지방산림청은 청소년들이 숲을 체험하면서 자신의 적성과 미래를 탐색할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해 추진 중인 2021년 청소년 녹색체험교육 사업 최종보고회를 북부지방산림청 대회의실에서 개최했다고 밝혔다.

녹색체험교육 사업은 2012년 학교 주5일 수업제 시행에 따른 주말산림학교 운영으로 시작하여 2018년부터는 중학교 자유학년제 전면 도입에 따라, 이에 대응하는 사업을 추진해오고 있다고 했다.

올해는 작년에 개발 및 시범 운영한 자유학년제 연계 17차시 산림교육 프로그램(진로 탐색, 동아리 등)을 관내(수도권·강원영서) 7개 중학교에 210회 이상 확대 운영하여 연 5,050명의 중학생들에게 숲을 직접 느끼면서 자신의 적성과 미래를 탐색하는 기회를 제공했다고 했다.

한편, 최종보고회에서 청소년을 대상으로 하는 녹색체험교육 활성화를 위해 산림교육 및 청소년교육분야 전문가를 자문위원으로 초빙하여 금년도 녹색체험교육 사업 결과와 보완 사항, 향후 추진 방향 등을 집중 논의했다고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “이번 보고회를 통해 도출된 사항들을 적극 검토하여 2021년 청소년 녹색체험교육 사업이 원활하게 마무리될 수 있도록 있도록 만전을 기하겠다.”라며 “미래의 주역이 될 우리 청소년들이 녹색체험교육을 통해 자기 주도적으로 학습할 수 있는 창의적 인재로 거듭나기를 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
