[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 9월 24일, 북부지방산림청 최수천 청장은 관내 횡성군치매안심센터 및 국립횡성숲체원과 지역협력체계 구축을 통한 치매 예방ㆍ극복 산림치유서비스 제공 등을 위해 치매극복의 날 주간 산림과 연접한 횡성호수길에서 걷기 캠페인을 실시하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 걷기 캠페인은 북부지방산림청, 횡성군치매안심센터, 국립횡성숲체원을 비롯해 지역 내 치매극복선도단체, 횡성군 갑천면 건강플러스마을위원회 등 유관기관이 참석하였고 제14회 치매극복의 날 지난 9월 21일을 기념하여 지역주민들의 치매 인식을 개선하고 건전한 돌봄문화 확산 등에 기여하고자 마련되었다고 했다.

한편, 북부지방산림청은 관내 치매안심센터 및 국립횡성숲체원과의 협업하여 청태산 치유의 숲 내에서 다양한 치매 예방ㆍ극복 산림치유 프로그램 '인지향상ㆍ신체단련ㆍ감성자극 등'을 운영하고 있으며, 교통 불편 등 치유의 숲으로 이동하기 어려운 치매안심센터에는 소속 산림복지전문가가 직접 찾아가는 방식으로 프로그램을 운영하여 어려운 여건 속에서도 어르신들이 원활하게 산림치유서비스 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 협력하고자 한다고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “우리나라 인구 고령화의 급속한 진전으로 치매 환자가 늘어나고 있음에 따라 치매 예방·극복에 대한 국민들의 관심이 높아지고 있다.”라며, “관내 치매 관련 기관들과 긴밀한 지역협력체계를 구축하여 숲속에서 양질의 치매 예방ㆍ극복 산림치유서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.
