[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김경호 도의원이 대표발의한 '경기도 기후변화 대비 작물 육성 및 지원에 관한 조례안'이 소관 상임위원회인 농정해양위원회 심사를 통과했다고 밝혔다.

조례안에는 기후변화 대비 작물의 안정적인 생산 기반 정착과 지속적인 성장을 유도하고, 나아가 농가의 소득 증대를 도모하기 위한 내용이 담겼고, 조례가 시행되면 도민의 입맛에 맞는 열대·아열대 품종 개발을 통해 새로운 품종의 농산물을 안정적으로 공급하고, 농업인의 소득 증대를 통해 농업의 지속가능한 발전에 이바지할 것으로 기대된다고 했다.

김 의원은 “최근 폭염, 이상기온, 게릴라성 호우 등 기후변화 문제가 심각한 수준”이라며 “고랭지 채소 등 서늘한 기후에서 재배되는 농산물의 재배 면적은 급감한 반면, 한라봉은 전북 김제에서, 무화과는 충북 충주에서, 사과는 경기도 포천에서 재배되는 등 농산물의 주산지가 급격히 바뀌고 있어 이에 대한 대비가 필요한 시점”이라고 말했다.

특히, 김 의원은 “농산물의 질적·양적 저하를 방지하기 위해 경기도 농업기술원 차원에서 체계적으로 기후변화 위기를 대비해야 한다”며 “조례 제정을 계기로 농가의 미래를 대비함과 동시에 소득 증대까지 동시에 이루어질 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 이날 김 의원이 발의한 조례안은 오는 15일 열리는 제354회 임시회 제4차 본회의에서 처리될 예정이라고 했다.
