금년도에 산림조사가 완료되면 내년에는 2023년부터 2032년까지 10년 동안 추진할 나무의 생애 주기에 맞는 목재수확 및 나무심기, 나무를 가꾸는 방법, 산림경영을 위한 기반시설 구축 등 산림경영에 대한 전반적인 계획이 수립된다고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “산림조사는 산림자원을 효율적이고 지속가능 하도록 운영하는데 있어서 가장 기초적인 자료이며, 산림경영의 목표설정 및 경영 방침 등을 정하는 중요한 자료로서의 의미를 갖는다.”고 밝혔다.
