이날 문을 연 이화리 행복마을관리소는 주거취약지역의 생활밀착형 공공서비스를 제공하는 사업으로, 마을회관 2층(가평읍 호반로 2313)에 설치됐다고 했다.

행복마을 관리소는 마을순찰, 여성 안심귀가, 취약계층 돌봄, 공구대여, 환경개선 등 일상생활에서 발생하는 소소하지만 불편한 사항을 처리하는 곳으로 마을 곳곳에서 주민과 접촉하며 행정과 주민을 잇는 가교 역할을 할 일종의 동네관리소라고 했다.

행복마을사무소에는 사무원 2명과 행복마을지킴이 6명 등 8명이 매주 월∼금요일 오전 8시부터 오후 11시까지 교대 근무를 한다고 전했다.

가평군은 지난해 개소한 원흥리 행복마을관리소에서 '홀몸노인 안부 전화 서비스' 및 ‘교통약자 이동지원 서비스’등 지역 특색사업을 포함한 4백여 건의 즉각적·생활밀착형 공공서비스를 제공했다고 전했다.

가평군 관계자는 “원흥리 주민들도 접근성이 높은 행복마을관리소에서 다양한 생활 문제를 해결 받을 수 있음에 높은 만족도를 보이고 있다.”며 “향후 6개 읍·면 단위로 사업을 확대하여 보다 많은 주민들이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
