일동면 청소년 지도협의회는 앞서 2월에도 일동면 소재 운담초등학교, 일동초등학교, 일동중학교 졸업생 1명씩을 선정해 학업에 매진할 수 있도록 장학금을 전달한 바 있다고 했다.

이종항 청소년지도협의회장은 “이번 장학금은 청소년지도협의회 위원들의 활동 보상금 및 자발적으로 모은 회비로 마련했다. 청소년들이 어려운 환경에서도 희망을 잃지 않고 자신의 꿈을 펼칠 수 있길 희망한다.”라고 전했다.

최종훈 일동고 교장은 “청소년의 바른 성장을 위한 지역사회의 관심에 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드리며, 교육현장에서도 지역인재 육성을 위해 더욱 힘쓰겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
