[서종협 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도와 태백시는 지난 16일 만항재~함백산 운탄고도 및 생태탐방로 일원에서 백두대간 산림정화 및 산림보호 캠페인을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

만항재~함백산 운탄고도 및 등산로 구간 쓰레기와 오물을 수거하고, 등산객을 대상으로 백두대간 산림보호 캠페인을 전개하는 한편,  ‘2023년 강원 세계산림엑스포’ 성공 개최를 다짐하는 기원 행사를 실시했다.

김경구 녹색국장은 “백두대간은 한반도의 근간이 되는 산줄기로 백두대간의 혜택을 후대들도 누릴 수 있도록 도민과 함께 보전·관리해 나아갈 계획이며  고성·속초·인제·양양 일원에서 개최하는 ‘2023년 강원 세계 산림엑스포’와 연계한 산림문화 자산으로 육성할 계획이다.”라고 밝혔다.
