[김준호 기자 = 평창군] 평창군은 오는 6일부터 개막하는 ‘백일홍 축제’와 추석 귀향객들에게 쾌적하고 아름다운 가로 경관을 제공하고 평창읍의 깨끗한 이미지를 통해 향후 머무르고 싶은 정주권이 될 수 있도록 가로수 정비를 실시했다.

이번 생활권 내 가로수 정비는 ▶평창읍 천변리~상리 ▶종부리 ▶하리 일원의 벚나무 94본을 대상으로 조형 가지치기와 고사목 12주를 제거하는 등 경관불량 및 도복이 우려되는 고사목을 정비했다.

평창읍은 쾌적한 생활주변 가로녹지 환경을 조성하고자 ‘2022년 가로수 생활주변 가로수 관리사업’을 추진하여 5일까지 정비를 마쳤다. 

권혁수 평창읍장은 “가로수 정비를 통해서 불편했던 보행공간을 안전하고 쾌적하게 다닐 수 있게 되었으며 평창읍 전체가 깨끗하고 아름다운 녹지공간이 되도록 지속적으로 정비하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
