[김준호 기자 = 정선군] 정선군(군수 최승준)이 전국최초로 추진한 음식물 탈수기 보급사업이 2022년 강원도 적극행정 우수사례로 선정됐다.

군에서는 음식물 쓰레기 처리에 선제적으로 대응하고자 2억 2,400여 만원을 투입하여 지난 3월부터 4월까지 관내 전 가구에 가정용 싱크대 음식물 탈수기 1만 7,000대를 보급했다.

이 사업은 음식물류 폐기물 원천감량을 통한 주거 환경개선 및 환경오염을 예방하고 음식물쓰레기 발생량의 15% 저감목표로 추진하는 사업이다.

지난해 음식물 쓰레기 발생량 2,695톤의 15%인 2,291톤인 404톤을 줄여 음식물 쓰레기 위탁처리비 224백만원 절감을 목표로 사업을 추진해 온실가스 668톤 CO2e 감소하여 소나무 138,165그루를 심는 효과를 거두었다.

황승훈 환경과장은 앞으로 음식물 쓰레기 발생억제 홍보와 감량 우수지역 인센티브 제공, 음식물 종량기보급을 지속적으로 확대할 계획리라며, 탄소중립과 생활속 ESG 실천으로 환경보호를 위해 노력해 나가겠다고 말했다.

한편, 정선군에서는 전국 최초로 시행한 적극행정 사례로는 버스완전공영제 시행, 완전 무상교육, 농번기 마을공동 급식 지원사업 등 공공서비스 질 향상은 물론 주민편의 증진, 생활불편 해소 등을 위해 다양한 분야의 사업을 추진하고 있다.
