[김준호 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 재단법인 영월장학회(이사장 최명서영월군수)는 지난 24일 열린 제2차 이사회 의결을 거쳐 선발된 복학 장학생 5명을 포함한 장학생 167명에게 2학기 장학금 2억 5천만 원을 지급했다.

앞서 재단법인 영월장학회는 지난 8월 1일부터 8월 12일까지 복학 장학생을 신청  받아 8월 24일 이사회를 통해 5명을 최종 선발하여 복학 장학생 5명과 기 선발된 장학생 162명에게 2학기 장학금을 지급하며, 2022년도 연내 총 357명에게 7억 7천만 원의 장학금을 전달했다.

1989년 설립된 재단법인 영월장학회는 영월군 출연금을 비롯해 각계각층의 후원으로 2022년 7월 말 150억 원의 기금이 조성되었으며, 그동안 5,209명에게 장학금 82억 원을 후원했다.
