[김준호 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 정선 남평리 토방집짓기 놀이가 오는 9월 29일부터 30일까지 2일간 개최되는 제29회 강원민속예술축제에 정선군 대표 민속으로 참가한다고 전했다.

정선 북평면 남평리는 정선에서는 드문 넓고 비옥한 토지를 바탕으로 오랫동안 주민들이 상부상조하며 화목하고 평화로운 마을을 유지해와 다양한 민속놀이가 전해져 온다.

정선 산간지방의 전통가옥인 토방집은 통나무와 진흙으로 만들었으며, 적설량이 많은 지형에 알맞고 산짐승으로부터 보호하기 쉬운 고장의 특성을 살린 가옥이다.

남평 토방집 짓기 놀이는 지방 전래의 민요 정선아라리와 목도소리며, 터다지기 소리 등에 남평 농악의 가락을 곁들여 집터 잡기, 고사 지내기, 귀틀짜기, 상량제, 한마당놀이 등의 순으로 이어진다.

지속적인 계승·발전을 위해 강원민속예술축제에 참가하기로 결정하고 매주 3회 남평 초등학교 운동장에 모여 토방집 짓기 놀이 과정을 하나하나 익히며 연습에 구슬땀을 흘리고 있다.
