[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 서권역(기업도시) 생활체육시설 부족에 따른 수영장 등 체육시설을 확충하고 높은 돌봄 수요를 충족하기 위해 추진된‘기업도시 복합체육센터 건립사업’이 22일부터 착공한다고 밝혔다.

지정면 가곡리 1507-3번지 샘마루 초등학교 옆에 들어서는 기업도시 복합체육센터에는 국비 50억 원, 시비 129억 원 등 총사업비 179억 원이 투입된다. 

연면적 4,764㎡ 지하 1층, 지상 3층 규모로 수영장(25m×5레인)을 비롯해 다목적체육관과 체력단련실 등 체육시설과 공동육아나눔터와 다함께돌봄센터 등 육아시설 등이 조성될 예정이며, 2024년 7월 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.

원강수 원주시장은 “체육·돌봄 인프라 확충으로 기업도시 주민 및 이전 기업 산업체 근로자 정주여건 개선은 물론 지역경제 활성화에도 이바지할 것으로 기대한다”라고 말했다.
