[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 국민들이 쾌적한 국가 숲길을 즐길 수 있도록 ‘숲길 민간 위탁사업’ 및 ‘산행문화개선 캠페인’을 추진 중이라고 밝혔다.

‘숲길 민간 위탁사업’은 보다 체계적인 숲길 운영·관리를 위해 시행 중이며, 이용자 편의 및 안전을 위한 시설 점검·보수, 지역 문화와 역사에 대한 숲길 스토리텔링을 개발·운영을 담당한다.

북부지방산림청 관내에서는 ‘한국등산트레킹지원센터’가 홍천, 인제, 민북지역 3개소, 285km 숲길(백두대간트레일, DMZ트레일, 약수숲길, DMZ펀치볼둘레길)을 위탁하여 운영·관리하고 있다.

이 중 백두대간트레일은 10개 구간으로 나누어져 있으며 1, 6구간은 미확인지뢰지대 및 산림유전자보호구역으로 예약탐방제로 운영되고 있다.

나머지 구간은 자율탐방제로 운영 중이나 구간 대부분이 장거리이고 이동통신 불통 지역으로 사전에 노선 및 관련기관 연락처를 숙지하여 만약의 사고에 대비하여야 한다.

해당 구간에 대한 문의사항은 1구간 DMZ펀치볼둘레길 안내센터, 6구간 백두대간트레일(인제) 안내센터 및 백두대간트레일(홍천) 안내센터에서 유선으로 안내받을 수 있으며, 숲길 탐방은 숲나들e를 통해 예약할 수 있다.

또한, 부북지방산림청은 올바른 산행문화 유도 및 이용자 만족도 제고를 위한 산행문화개선 캠페인을 추진 중이고, 산악단체, 지역별 관련 기관, 동우회 등과 연합 온·오프라인 캠페인을 실시하며 캠페인 주요내용으로는 산행 흔적 안남기기, 쓰레기 가져오기, 등산로 리본 부착하지 않기 등이다.

북부지방산림청장은 “계속되는 폭염 속에서 시원한 숲길은 불볕더위를 피할 좋은 피서지가 될 것이다.”며, “안전하고 체계적인 숲길서비스 제공과 올바른 산행문화 유도 등으로 이용자 만족도 제고를 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
